Smart Snacking

Making something easy or accessible (or not) is how you change your snacking habits. We snack more and we snack more often because it’s easy and because it’s convenient, we snack before a meal, afterwards and sometimes instead. We snack all day and it very soon becomes a habit to snack and grab something we can crunch on all day long. With a few smart modifications we can change that.  Eat protein rich snacks. Quick snacks with lots of sugar will give you an instant energy boost but it won’t last and you’ll be coming from the sugar high within an hour feeling worse and being hungry again. High protein snacks (protein bars, nuts and yogurts) satisfy your hunger, longer and will not raise your blood sugar levels. They will keep you feeling full longer and keep you in a better mood all day long.  Never keep any commercial snacks in the house. If you want a bag of crisps you will have to come out and buy some. By making it inconvenient you are likely to not bother  and either...

Ronaldo rubbishes reports

Cristiano Ronaldo has broken several months of near-silence to rubbish reports that he is unhappy at Real Madrid and wants to leave the Spanish giants. The World Player of the Year has barely uttered a word since he gruffly told reporters after the Champions League defeat by Schalke 04 in March he would not speak to the media until the end of the season. Despite the prolific Ronaldo's goal-scoring efforts, Real ended the campaign without major silverware and coach Carlo Ancelotti was sacked and Rafa Benitez brought in. The former Manchester United player went out of his way to show support for Ancelotti before he was dismissed and Benitez's appointment prompted speculation Ronaldo had fallen out with the club and with president Florentino Perez. However, the Portugal star took time out from his holiday to call for an end to speculation over his future. "I would sincerely like the false reports to stop and to be left a little in peace," said Ronaldo who is on holid...

David de Gea may be forced to see out the final year of his contract as Real Madrid refuse to pay Manchester United £20m fee

Manchester United goalkeeper David de Gea may be forced to see out the final year of his contract at Old Trafford with Real Madrid refusing to meet the Old Trafford club's £20million asking price. The two European heavyweights are refusing to budge on their different valuation of de Gea who only has a year left on his United contract. And the stand-off means there is a very real possibility of the 24-year-old Spaniard having to wait another 12 months before returning 'home' despite the move being considered a done deal a few weeks ago. Madrid, with new manager Rafa Benitez at the helm, are steadfast that they will not give United more than £13m given that they can get him for nothing in a year's time. But United, who are already committed to a big summer of spending on the likes of Morgan Schneiderlin, say they won't let De Gea go for that amount and have to buy a replacement goalkeeper to compete with Victor Valdes. The impasse leaves manager Louis van Gaal in an awk...

Liverpool set to miss out on Carlos Bacca as Sevilla striker agrees AC Milan transfer

Sevilla striker Carlos Bacca looks set to snub Liverpool and join AC Milan after his agent revealed he has agreed terms at the San Siro. The Colombian star starred in the Europa League triumph last season and has been courted by many clubs, including Roma and Brendan Rodgers' side. But Sergio Barila, who earlier this week revealed that Bacca would be keen on a switch to Anfield, has stated that the 28-year-old is now 'very happy and chose what is best for his future'. 'I can confirm that Milan and the player reached an agreement,' representative Sergio Barila told MilanNews.it. 'Carlos chose what is best for his future, so it's only natural he is happy. How long is the deal for? You'd best ask the Rossoneri that.' Milan have yet to agree a fee with Sevilla and CEO Adriano Galliani is already on the case, with the release clause currently just over £21million. Bacca scored 28 goals in 56 competitive club games for Sevilla last season.
